Summer 2014

(Under development - not finished yet!)
This year we decided to try Italy, somewhere we have not spent much time in previously. After last year's visit to Austria and Croatia we also wanted to try an reduce the cost of French motorway Tolls. We had been recommended (from the Caravan Forum) to visit the Cinque Terre so I planned a route using my usual method of averaging about 200 miles a day and staying over two nights at most places. This allows us to take it easy and visit some hopefully interesting places on the way.
Top of the Larche pass in the Alp (D900 at 1994metres)
The route I planned as as follows (use the menu on the right to read my review of each site and the journey there):

  1. Calais
  2. Anet (East of Paris)
  3. Bourges
  4. St Flour - to the West of Le Puy
  5. Apt - this location, being in Provence, we planned to stay 3 nights. Apt is east of Avignon
  6. Cuneo - in Italy
  7. Deiva Maria - just north of the Cinque Terre
I chose to pre-book the campsites on the way down, and selected them all from the Caravan Club Caravan Europe book (2010 edition)
