This year we decided to try Italy, somewhere we have not spent much time in previously. After last year's visit to Austria and Croatia we also wanted to try an reduce the cost of French motorway Tolls. We had been recommended (from the Caravan Forum) to visit the Cinque Terre so I planned a route using my usual method of averaging about 200 miles a day and staying over two nights at most places. This allows us to take it easy and visit some hopefully interesting places on the way.

- Calais
- Anet (East of Paris)
- Bourges
- St Flour - to the West of Le Puy
- Apt - this location, being in Provence, we planned to stay 3 nights. Apt is east of Avignon
- Cuneo - in Italy
- Deiva Maria - just north of the Cinque Terre
I chose to pre-book the campsites on the way down, and selected them all from the Caravan Club Caravan Europe book (2010 edition)
